Casabah Gems is a family-owned Gem & Jewelry business based out of Mississauga ON Canada, operated by CGA (Canadian Gemological Association) qualified Gemologists Hosney Cader(FCGmA) and Adham Cader (FCGmA), born and raised in Ceylon, Sri Lanka.
We provide fine, faceted and polished gemstones – both precious and semi-precious – at wholesale/retail prices for the Gem and Jewelry Industry, and discerning end customers.
We travel back and forth between Mississauga, Sri Lanka, Burma, Montana USA, Africa, Zimbabwe, Tanzania, Kenya sourcing most of our stones close to the source.
We carry an array of fine gemstones:

- to Burma Jade and Burma Blue Sapphires,
- Teal Sapphires from Montana USA,
- Burma Spinel, Sri Lanka Spinel,

- to Tsavorites from Tanzania/Kenya,
- Emeralds from Africa.
Our family hails from a generation of gem traders in Sri Lanka where there is a popular saying in the gem trade: “it’s not what you know, it’s who you know”. As such we are uniquely placed to know the ins and outs of the gem trade in Sri Lanka and are able to appraise and procure high quality, ethically sourced stones from reputed and trusted sources.
From Mine to Market
This applies to the entire process, from ethically mined stones; to highly skilled gemstone lapidaries, who have generations of experience cutting stones using the equipment and processes learned from their forefathers resulting in high quality cuts.
