Erikord Gems was founded by Erik Morrison and grew from a lifelong passion for rocks and minerals. Growing up in Wilberforce, Ontario, just outside Bancroft, Canada’s “Mineral Capital,” Erik was surrounded by a strong rockhounding and mineral collecting culture from a young age. Visiting the Bancroft Rockhound Gemboree helped spark an early fascination with minerals, gemstones, and the stories behind where they come from.

Erik recently studied gemology in Bangkok, Thailand, graduating with Highest Honours as an Accredited Gemologist through the Asian Institute of Gemological Sciences (AIGS). This experience continues to shape the business and help build trusted relationships throughout the mineral and gemstone trade. Erikord Gems is focused on honesty and transparency. As an Accredited Gemologist, all gemstone treatments, such as heat treatment on sapphires, are always clearly disclosed.
