Mary Ann’s signature peacock glass lampwork headpins will be used to create a pendant and earring set. The basics of opening and closing jump rings, as well as how to make a wrapped wire loop will be taught in this class. Creative options for the use of headpins in designing jewelry will also be discussed.

As a retired Visual Arts teacher Mary Ann Helmond has worked with a wide variety of creative mediums. She discovered glass while on vacation in Anchorage Alaska. After seeking out learning opportunities she set up her studio in 2005 in the basement of her home in Kitchener. Her lampwork has been featured in juried exhibits as well as magazines and books. She has written magazine articles and tutorials and is available to teach lamp working classes.
